Dr. Lane received his Bachelor's and Master's from Prairie View A&M University and his PhD. from Texas A&M University-College Station. He has worked in the Biology Department at Prairie View A&M University for over 26 years - specializing in S.T.E.M. education which has always been his passion, and he believes serving on the school board will give him an excellent opportunity to impact the Cy-Fair community.
Dr. Lane and his wife's eldest daughter graduated from Cy-Ranch and they have two middle school students at Spillane Middle School. He has volunteered at the Y.M.C.A. for over seven years, 1000 Guys in Ties, Men of Honor, Watch D.O.G.S., Choir activities and other Youth athletics. He started Legacy State of Mind Educational Consulting to assist students with college preparation.
He has received several teaching awards such as, Texas A&M University System Chancellor’s Academy of Teacher Educators. He has worked on projects with science facility renovation technology integration, S.T.E.M. teacher and curriculum development. Lane aims to enhance curriculum, community engagement, technology integration, and student support services.
